Intipuncu (Machu Picchu)

My husband and I eloped here, and Intipunku is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to! Truly a magical place that overlooks gorgeous views including the Apú Veronica, and several small ciudads. I would go a million times over.

Amazing experience at the Mcchu Pichu sun gate. After an early morning hike of about 3 hours, the amazing first views of the Machu Pichu citadel are visible from here. The tiredness and limb soreness all disappear as the views of the citadel become clearer in the distance.

It's a very nice hiking tour to the sun gate and a perfect view on Machu Picchu in the mountains.

About an hour's hike from Machu Picchu - well worth it if you have the time! Fantastic views of the citadel, especially around sunrise or sunset. Be aware that it closes around 4pm though, so if you cannot start hiking by 230-3, it may not be worthwhile.

The relief and joy felt when reaching the sun gate is great.

This is the one free hike to see the citadel from afar. The other two mountain hikes have a fee and are very difficult for those not active. It took us 45 minutes there, and the same back. Beautiful views and not overly strenuous. This is something you should do on your visit.

El Intipunku es un logro, el casi terminamos de una larga caminata de muchas subidas y bajadas, como también altos escalones. Desde aqui se logra apreciar la ciudad del Maschu Pischu y las bellas vistas de las montañas.

The moment to finally climb over the top after 4 days trekking is the most rewarding and powerful thing I've ever felt. So beautiful and the trek was totally worth every ache and pain it took to get there

One of the most thrilling views on all of the Inca Trail. It's your first sign that you've "made it!" You breathe a sigh of relief and relax a moment. It's such a moment. Highly recommend approaching Machu Picchu this way!

The view from this point of Macchu Pichhu is unreal, especially after the 10k Inca trail walk. I would recommend to be at the sun gate to see the sunset, and the next day try and be inside Macchu Picchu for the beautiful view of the sun rise through the sun gate.

I first saw intipunku from Ollantaytambo. The sun gate rose from the clouds as the sun set behind, a breathtaking view of the mountaintops. The next day I made it to the sun gate, a magnificent entrance to Machu Picchu.

La mejor vista! La sensacion que se siente es inigualable. Recomendable quedarse mas de 30 min a disfrutar el paisaje que ofrece. Cuidado en el camino se observan muchas especies de reptiles. No te asustes!

When hiking the Inka trail this is where you’ll get your first view of Machu Picchu. And what a fantastic view this is. Make all the effort worth it. You can also reach it in about 30min coming from Machu Picchu itself.

Loved it! Glad I made the climb as was my 71 year old father. Not for those with bad balance. Would be very slippery if raining. My guide told me it was about 0.2 miles each way.

A 30min de la ciudadela llegas a la puerta del sol, la cual es la entrada del camino inca a machupicchu. Allí tienes una vista desde otro ángulo de Machu y de aguas calientes

Grandioso La sensacion que se siente es inigualable. Recomendable quedarse a disfrutar el paisaje que ofrece. Pero hay que tener mucho cuidado en el camino se observan muchas especies de serpientes. Hay que llevar botas altas para una mejor experiencia sin sustos

Impressive!!! Nature at its best!! It took a while to get there (long climb) and it rained regularly... But it was absolutely worth the effort!!!!
